Chelsea has already revealed the truth to Billy and now it’s time for Adam to confess to Sally!
“I hope the fans enjoy it,” Courtney Hope enthused to Soaps In Depth. “I really enjoyed shooting these scenes and
this episode. And I know we were all eagerly awaiting, ‘How’s it going to come out?’ All four of us, we were constantly
asking each other, ‘Do you know anything?’ Because we only get scripts so far ahead. So when it did come out, it was
really exciting to work with everyone and see it come to a head. So I hope the fans enjoy it as well.”
Sally and Billy have been suspicious that Adam and Chelsea were keeping something big from them, and now that Chelsea finally admitted to Billy that she and Adam slept together that night in Baltimore, it’s Adam’s turn to come clean… not that he wants to!
“Obviously, Adam has blatantly lied to Sally’s face and saying that he did not sleep with Chelsea,” Hope explained. “So Billy shows up and alludes to the fact that there’s obviously more to the story. Sally’s just been lied to so many times and she’s not stupid. I think she’s been gaslit by Adam through this whole situation to kind of doubt her intuition and doubt herself. So in that moment when Billy shows up, it’s like, okay, there’s more to it and you’re not going to get away with it this time.
“Adam, I don’t think, would’ve shown his hand if Chelsea hadn’t done it first,” the actress added. “Also, I wouldn’t put it past him to try and find a way to get this story twisted. If he could have gotten to Chelsea beforehand to kind of make it all go away so that Sally didn’t have to find out, I think that’s what he would’ve done. I don’t think he wants to tell Sally at all, but obviously, there isn’t any other option. He has to be honest. He dug a deep ditch.”
Bad enough Adam cheated on Sally with Chelsea but he then lied to her repeatedly, even when she flat-out asked him if he slept with Chelsea in Baltimore, so her response to the truth is going to be… strong to say the least! “So when a firework goes off,” Hope laughed, “it explodes everywhere and starts lighting up the room. That’s her reaction. She loses it for sure. She’s lied to, she’s frustrated, she’s angry. She’s more than anything, hurt and gutted. She loves Adam so much and wants this to work and to not only just find it out but to find it out after he blatantly said to her that no, he didn’t, I think is a huge betrayal. So that is what lights the fuse to her losing it.”
While Sally obviously feels betrayed and hurt by Adam, it also hits on a much deeper level. “More than anything, Sally’s grown into a place where she really values and respects herself,” the Daytime Emmy winner explained. “Especially after everything that happened with Ava. What is she worth and what is she going to allow into her life? So there’s a lot of layers to it and I think she’s navigating it, but this is definitely something that could potentially be unforgivable in Sally’s eyes, especially the lie.
“I think if he would’ve said something early on, maybe she would’ve been hurt, but maybe she would’ve found her way through it,” Hope continued. “But after he doubled down and then pretty much tripled down, she’s asked him three times and he blatantly said no, I think he really potentially nailed the coffin, which is unfortunate for her. I feel bad for Sally.”
