Janelle Brown Reveals One Reason To Stay With Kody
Kody and Janelle Brown have struggled for some time. He wanted her to throw their sons, Gabe and Garrison out during the pandemic. Yet, she chose her kids over a husband and has maintained that was the right decision. Additionally, she has stayed close to her former sister wife, Christine Brown, even after she left the family. This has made Kody infinitely upset. After a few blowout fights, it came to a point where Janelle no longer felt connected to him. She did note that if he had told her he was not attracted to her as he did Christine, she would have left immediately.
Now, Janelle has essentially parted ways with Kody as she shares that she does not feel married on Sister Wives. She is not actively looking for a relationship and does not like the idea of dating right now. According to People, however, there would have been one reason she would have stayed with Kody. “I think maybe if you hadn’t have left, I might’ve stuck it out … because you are the heart. You were a lot of the heart of the family for my kids,” she told Christine during their People interview together. She also added this:
“It was heartbreaking for me when Christine left because all of a sudden the family was this whole different identity, and Christine had always been a big part of what I perceived was the family identity. My children gravitate towards her. They always say to me, ‘Mom, wherever Christine is, we want to be for the holidays.’ Or whatever.”
Despite Christine’s sad exit, loyalty to the family kept Janelle Brown hanging on. Yet, Christine has traveled frequently from Utah to Flagstaff to be with Janelle and her kids. They even just went on a road trip on the show together, proving they have something real.

When Christine Brown first started dating her now-husband, David Woolley, she let him know that Janelle Brown was a part of the package. Recently, they all went on a sponsored cruise and spent time together as a trio. Both are thriving away from Kody yet have found a lasting family within each other. They are further proving they do not need Kody to keep them together.
