Friends’ Jennifer Aniston has revealed that she was left dissatisfied on the show over equal pay.
While the actress earned a hefty amount on the classic sitcom, she was often being paid more than her co-stars, something she’s admitted made her feel uneasy.
“I’m aware that I have had a pretty easy time in terms of my experience in the business,” she told Radio Times. “But even back on Friends, it wasn’t so much about women being paid the same as men – some of the women were being paid more.
“It was more about, ‘We’re doing equal work and we all deserve to be compensated in the same way.’ I wouldn’t feel good going to work knowing someone was getting x amount and I was getting something greater.”
As well as sharing huge reunion selfies, Aniston has recently been dishing on where her character Rachel Green and Ross Geller are now.
“Well we’re on a break,” she said on an Instagram comment. We’re glad that’s cleared up.
She has also given her thoughts on why a Friends movie never happened, musing: “Our producers wouldn’t want it, wouldn’t let us. Look, it’s not been without our desire to, because our fans have wanted it so much.”
As for whether the cast is willing to do a movie, Aniston added: “It depends. I mean, we haven’t all sat in a room. But would we have loved to have done something together? Yeah.
“It would have been fun. We could have redesigned it for a couple episodes. But whatever. Maybe it’s better this way, but we’ll never know.”
