At Crimson Lights, Summer updates Phyllis about her success in getting a judge
to prevent Kyle from taking Harrison to Paris. Phyllis is relieved and asks how Kyle took the news. Summer says he’s freaking out because he’s realized he can’t just do whatever he wants with their son. Summer tells Phyllis that none of this would be happening if she hadn’t listened to her mother’s advice. Phyllis emphasizes the importance of documenting everything and always going through the courts. She assures Summer that she will always be in her corner, and Summer appreciates her support. Phyllis acknowledges that Summer went through a lot and deserves this outcome but wonders if Summer’s heart isn’t breaking just a little bit. Summer insists she’s not upset at all, declaring that she won and Kyle lost.
Phyllis then questions how not going to Paris will affect Harrison. Summer scoffs, saying that the boy didn’t even know what Paris was until Claire filled his head with adventures. Summer pulls out a drawing Harrison made, wishing she could share in the fun.
Phyllis suggests that Claire gave it to her to make her feel guilty, and it worked. Summer feels guilty but believes she should be the one doing fun things with Harrison, not someone else. She asks if she’s being unreasonable, and Phyllis reassures her that only her feelings matter. Summer feels that Kyle is trying to squeeze her out of Harrison’s life while he’s involved with Audra. Phyllis warns that Kyle will retaliate, so Summer needs to plan her next steps. Summer admits she doesn’t know what Kyle will do next, feeling like she doesn’t know this version of him anymore. He’s so focused on what he wants that everyone around him has to fall in line, and it scares her.
Meanwhile, Kyle arrives at the Abbott house where Claire and Harrison are reading a book about Paris. Harrison is excited about going up the Eiffel Tower. Kyle tells his son that they won’t be able to go to Paris this time due to a business trip. Harrison asks if he did something wrong, and Kyle reassures him that it’s not his fault. Claire talks about all the fun things they can do in Genoa City and comforts Harrison by saying his mom won’t have to miss him so much now. Harrison, who was sad his mom couldn’t come, reluctantly agrees that it’s okay if they don’t go to Paris. Kyle hugs Harrison and looks gratefully at Claire
